Bluffing in poker should be made after a careful the cards, the players in general, the players with special focus to a particular opponent, studying the betting pattern, studying the betting pace in the table, the range at which the pot is getting built in the table, and finally the risk factor involved in bluffing with the kind of hand that you hold versus how efficiently you will be able to make a bluff.

Anyone that is in to poker will know the kind of knocks that poker bluffs can give for a target victim.  Those that gamble on poker will not get away without pulling out a few tricks of poker bluffs out of their hat.  Poker bluffs are regarded as a kind of risky approach in poker, especially in cases where mediocre hands do not see any improvement. In most cases of poker bluffs, if the opponent decides to call, then you are already dead in the track most of the time; however, in rare cases the opponent might also be calling against you with a high risk. It depends a lot on how well versed you are with poker bluffs and how efficient you can be with doing it.

Learning how to bluff efficiently is one way by which you can win without even having the best of the hand.  Almost all of how to bluff ideas are based on tells and ability to read tilts.  Most of the bluff ideas are applicable for all poker variants; however, a bit of change for each variant is a real need.  The first step in learning how to bluff is to count the number of players in the table.  Bluffing in a big table is complicated and less yielding than when a bluff that is done in a short handed table.  So, the first lesson that you need to understand on how to bluff is to not bluff in a big table because chance are more for getting caught when you are in a big table.
