Learning how to bluff efficiently is one way by which you can win without even having the best of the hand.  Almost all of how to bluff ideas are based on tells and ability to read tilts.  Most of the bluff ideas are applicable for all poker variants; however, a bit of change for each variant is a real need.  The first step in learning how to bluff is to count the number of players in the table.  Bluffing in a big table is complicated and less yielding than when a bluff that is done in a short handed table.  So, the first lesson that you need to understand on how to bluff is to not bluff in a big table because chance are more for getting caught when you are in a big table.

If you are playing in a live casino, be sure that your face does not mirror what you have.  The technical jargon on how to bluff is less important, because how you stage matters a lot.  If you are having a weak bluff idea and you stage it skillfully, that works in the most part than a strong bluff idea that is staged poorly.  When someone else is on a strong hand and if you are sure that there is someone else with a pot committed hand do not get fooled by bluffing.  How to bluff whether good or best never works against pot committed poker players, unless they are cranks who cannot differentiate between where actually they are. If you are looking to bluff against such strong people, be sure that they are fishes that can be scared away easily even if they hold the best hand.  If you think that is not possible, better play straight.

In many cases checking is also an important facet of how to bluff plans.  If you are going to bet continuously most are going assume that you have a best hand that will really pay. So, if you check you give an impression that you are apprehensive about your play plans or pockets, when the opponents see you checking they think you are not a very strong opponent that can win and they still stay heads up betting and raising this is one way of having your pot grow. And also by the number of people following this betting you will get an idea of those that are still confident about their hands.  You can check raise to eliminate a few from the list to track the real opponent.
