How to bluff is the constantly ringing question in the poker world. Unless you know how to bluff and how to break through bluffs you will not have any edge in poker.  In most of the limit betting games many people in the table tend to be heads up until the showdown, this is because the bets are limited and once they have come until turn or river, they do not mind spending some extra in the showdown.

The element that differentiates and endangers players in the showdown is the high limit bets in no limit games.  Betting tends to go aggressive in the no-limit turn and river and players simply fold if they cannot afford to play any more.  In many cases of no limit playing every player is likely to know how to bluff to get information about the viability of the opponent hands and also they know how to bluff to appear better to others.

If you want to have some extra information about your opponent you will be betting more and you will be exerting more pressure on the opponent.  If the opponent is going to respond to your bet then it means they are hopeful about their hand.  If the opponent is one that knows how to bluff then they might be pretending that they are better, so to figure out whether they are bluffing, you raise your bet, they respond back by calling the raise; you go more aggressive and you make a re-raise, they still call you back.  In this case you begin to doubt if your opponent is better than you because they are not scared by any bet, raise or re-raise you make.  You fold thinking they are better.  In the end you see that they were second best to you and actually they won because you folded.  All the time they were bluffing!

Knowing how to bluff involves judging the true viability of the opponent also.  If you did do some odds calculation about the number of better hands that can beat you and if you have read the board and made odds comparison, you would have decided to go all in and see what your opponent reaction could be; however, this decision is crucial and should be done with lot of thought if you loose all your chips will go away, but if you feel that you are ready to risk a little more, you can try your luck with all ins! Well, this kind of pressured play is what poker is all about.
